The Business Advisory Board is a group of local businesses that meet quarterly at OIC to discuss workforce needs in Chester County. Their knowledge and support allows us to make more informed decisions about the training we offer here at OIC. All of our programs – from ESL classes to CNA training – are workforce-contextualized, and the input of the Business Advisory Board ensures that our workforce teaching practices are relevant to our own local business community while meeting the needs of our students and jobseekers.
Some board members also offer tours of their businesses to OIC clients. This allows clients with little work experience or those who are transitioning to a new field the opportunity to see a typical day at a local business and have hands-on experience in addition to their time in the classroom.
Thank you to the following local businesses for their participation in the Business Advisory Board:
Michelle Luecker, Barclay Friends
Dave Johnson, Brandywine Valley HVAC
Brian Parsons, CTDI
Philip McFadden, Home Instead Senior Care
John Norton, Sikorsky Helicopters
Jim Pye, There’s No Place Like Home
Dede Carruthers, Wegmans
Al Cohen, William Cohen & Sons Inc.
